The Municipality of Makedonski Brod is a forest haven in our region, represented by mountainous terrain overgrown with dense oak, beech and pine forests, and abundance of fresh water. The river Treska divides the territory into two and forms the largest artificial lake in Macedonia with a length of 32 km. The untouched nature and deep forests hide caves, which make this an attractive destination for many tourists. The New York Times describes the Peshna cave identical to the cave from the movie Lord of the Rings. The largest Macedonian cave is the cave Slatinski izvor, located near the village of Slatina. An underground river 557 m long flows through the cave. The dense forests are ideal for the possibility of hunting, as well as river and lake fishing that openes the opportunity for various adventures through untouched nature.
